The Help Wanted: Low-Income Single Adult Job Seekers and the Programs Serving Them report details findings from a two-year study of single adult job seekers (including non-custodial parents) with multiple barriers to obtaining and/or retaining employment and the programs that provide employment services to them. The intent of this project is to fill the research gap on single adult and non-custodial parent job seekers who are ineligible for government cash assistance but who have had difficulty in maintaining employment. Data were collected from program interviews and observations, and from in-depth, one-on-one interviews with 146 job seekers at program entry. In addition, one-third of these job seekers were interviewed again at a 6 to 12 month follow-up.
